Bhanu Kapil was born in the U.K. to Indian parents. Many things went wrong, but other things did not. Bhanu teaches through the monster, the cyborg and the humanimal at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. She is the author of five books of poetry.  Her second book, Incubation: a space for monsters, will be republished in a new edition, with a preface by Eunsong Kim and “other extreme notes,” in 2018, by Kelsey Street Press (Berkeley, California.) Currently, Bhanu is writing a novel of pilgrimage on yellow paper and commuting to Boise, Idaho, where she is teaching an intensive on hybrid forms at Ming Studios.
