kate bernheimer (story)

Kate Bernheimer is the author of a novel trilogy and the story collections Horse, Flower, Bird and How a Mother Weaned Her Girl from Fairy Tales. She has edited four anthologies, including the World Fantasy Award winning and bestselling My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me: Forty New Fairy Tales and the World Fantasy Award nominated xo Orpheus: Fifty New Myths. Her most recent book,Office at Night (co-authored with Laird Hunt) was a finalist for the Shirley Jackson Awards and was a joint commission of Coffee House Press and Walker Art Center. She also writes for children, edits the annual literary journal Fairy Tale Review, and for many years has collaborated with her brother, Andrew Bernheimer, on a multi-disciplinary international architectural fairy-tale series for Places Journal.  Her books have been translated into many languages including Catalan, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish. She is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Arizona.
